December 1999: First National Youth Forum on environment. In December 1999, the Youth Advisory Council in partnership with the GTZ project "Advisor MINEF and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry organized for the first time a national forum for young environmental actors held in Yaounde from 16 to 18 December 1999. It was to launch the global campaign on sustainable consumption, organized by members of the Youth Council of UNEP in their respective countries including Councillor Yac. A national competition has been introduced at all secondary schools in Cameroon: "Best idea and action undertaken on sustainable consumption and environment," Best artwork on the theme "Water for Life - Water for life.
